Detect dead links and duplicates in browser bookmarks

Manage your bookmarks easily with AM-Deadlink. This program is a nimble bookmark organizer that can automatically detect inactive and duplicate website links. It works with Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Google Chrome.

AM-DeadLink detects dead links and duplicates in browser bookmarks and text files. If a bookmark has become unavailable you can verify and delete it permanently. Additionally you can download FavIcons for all your Favorites and Bookmarks.

AM-DeadLink can check the following resources:

  • Internet Explorer Favorites
  • Firefox 3.x bookmarks
  • Opera bookmarks
  • Chrome bookmarks
  • HTML files
  • URLs from tab delimited text files
  • URLs from comma separated text files
After lauching the program will instantly load all saved Internet Explorer (the default web browser) bookmarks. If you want to access a different browser, click the Web Browser menu and select accordingly. To check if all pre-loaded bookmarks have dead and duplicate links, click the Check Bookmarks button.
All inactive links will then be displayed at the top.
You can remove these dead bookmarks by hitting the Del key on your keyboard or by pressing the Delete button on AM-Deadlink. Once you’ve deleted these links, they will be automatically remove from your browser’s main bookmarks’ folder (no need to save it).
